ABOUT US

Brad Kohler’s Campaign: Make Minnesota Affordable (MMA)!

Brad Kohler is running for Governor to Make Minnesota Affordable! Drawing on his background as a former professional fighter to bring grit, discipline, and real solutions to our state's challenges.

His campaign fully embraces The Independence Way and its Core Values: a living philosophy rooted in truth, freedom, collaboration, innovation, stewardship, and unity. Brad pledges to lead as a public servant first following a Foundation of Truth and Integrity through transparent, honest, fact-based actions and communications that build trust and accountability. He upholds Fundamental Freedoms and Human Rights, protecting autonomy, dignity, and inclusion for every person while breaking down barriers of discrimination and fostering respect. Brad champions A Ground-Up Governance Philosophy, empowering local communities and grassroots leaders to shape solutions that address real needs without top-down overreach, promoting collective responsibility and civic engagement. He commits to Authentic and Innovative Leadership that is evidence-based, forward-thinking, and solutions-oriented by using technology ethically to benefit all while guarding against misuse. Brad fosters Collaboration with Diverse Thinking, creating space for constructive dialogue where differences become opportunities to connect, understand, and grow toward the common good. Above all, he leads with Listening, Inclusivity, Tolerance, building a welcoming home for all Minnesotans. Independents, frustrated voters, or anyone seeking honest progress that value every voice with empathy, compassion, and purpose. Finally, Brad views his role as Service & Stewardship, a sacred duty to serve with conviction for the well-being of current and future generations, as stewards of our lands, communities, and institutions for lasting welfare, not short-term gains.

A Public Servant Fighting for Minnesotans From the ring to public life, Brad knows what it takes to stand up responsibly, listen deeply, and act as a true steward of Minnesota's future by protecting our lands, institutions, and people. He sees our state at a crossroads, where rising costs, systemic barriers, and inefficient systems make it harder for families, workers, and businesses to thrive. His approach focuses on reducing the cost of living, eliminating waste, fostering evidence-based opportunity, and ensuring no Minnesotan, regardless of zip code, background, or circumstance, faces unnecessary obstacles to stability, dignity, and success. Prosperity is a shared project we all build together.

A Plan for Shared Prosperity and Community Well-Being As Governor, Brad will deliver effective, innovative, fact-based solutions to strengthen thriving communities through safety, opportunity, strong schools, reliable healthcare, affordable housing, and vibrant local economies grounded in local input and collaboration:

  • Eliminate the state business income tax to empower entrepreneurs and drive inclusive economic growth.

  • Reduce personal income taxes so families keep more of their hard-earned money.

  • Lower property taxes to support true homeownership and community stability.

  • Cap car and truck tabs at $99 to ease burdens on everyday drivers.

  • Cut excessive red tape and regulations that hinder innovation and job creation.

  • Strengthen evidence-based public safety and law enforcement while respecting constitutional rights.

  • Expand vocational training and support for skilled careers, including accessible childcare for working parents.

  • Empower parents with greater input in education, promote focused learning environments (like limiting classroom distractions), and ensure fairness and protections in youth athletics.

These priorities emphasize data, local empowerment, and collaboration—not rhetoric or division—to create opportunity and inclusion for all.

Strengthening Democratic Institutions and Elevating Every Voice Brad commits to fair processes, secure and accessible elections, transparency in government and campaigns, and lowering barriers for independent voices and new ideas. He will defend checks and balances, the rule of law, and systems that protect everyone equally by representing all constituents with integrity and inclusivity.

Fiscal Responsibility, Transparency, and Efficient Government Minnesotans deserve accountable, honest stewardship of resources. Brad will:

  • Ensure full public transparency in spending (with accessible tools for real-time oversight).

  • Eliminate wasteful programs, reduce bureaucracy, and prioritize efficient funding for essential services that truly benefit communities.

  • End backroom deals and commit to open, justified budgeting—no reckless spending, only results-focused investments rooted in truth.

Communicating with Respect and Clarity Brad speaks with intention: focusing on systems, root causes, and facts while maintaining a calm, solutions-driven tone to inform, collaborate, and solve problems. He rejects inflammatory rhetoric, scapegoating, personal attacks, or broad generalizations, holding individuals accountable with dignity and fostering trust through listening and tolerance.

Open Engagement and Service to All Brad will listen humbly and govern collaboratively:

  • Holding regular town halls, traveling to all 87 counties, and engaging directly with residents.

  • Provide live-streamed updates and digital platforms for ongoing input and transparency.

He prioritizes communities, families, and civic participation through positive, inclusive approaches that foster pride, support those in need, protect free expression, and build a more tolerant, connected Minnesota.

Leadership for Every Minnesotan Brad isn't tied to party politics, he's an independent fighter ready to serve with empathy, humility, and responsibility. Whether you're independent, frustrated with the status quo, or seeking practical progress beyond division, there's a place for you in this inclusive movement.
